What is the Lenfest College Scholarship Program?

The Lenfest College Scholarship Program provides college scholarships to graduates of public high schools in the Bermudian Springs, Conewago Valley, Fairfield and Upper Adams school districts in Adams County, the Octorara School District in Chester County, the Chambersburg Area, Fannett-Metal, Greencastle-Antrim, Tuscarora and Waynesboro school districts in Franklin County, the Pequea Valley School District in Lancaster County, the Upper Perkiomen School District in Montgomery County and the South Western and Spring Grove school districts in York County.
The program is designed to help students succeed by encouraging them to attend challenging academic colleges. Students are selected in their junior year and given college admission counseling and assistance.

What type of scholarships do students receive?

The program provides up to $12,000 per year for four years toward the cost of attendance at an
accredited U.S. private college and up to $7,500 per year toward the cost of attendance at an accredited U.S.
public college.

Why do students apply in their junior year?
|

In addition to the financial award, the College Scholarship Program will provide counseling and support.
By identifying scholarship students in their junior year, the program has almost an entire year to work with them
before they enter college. The aim is to help families better understand and navigate the admission process, and help
Lenfest College Scholars gain admission to challenging academic colleges.

How do students apply?

Applications for the Lenfest College Scholarship Program will be available at all eligible high schools and on this site.

The program promotion begins in the fall of each year and applications are due February 1.

How will recipients be selected?

A scholarship selection committee will review the initial applications and select a group of
semifinalists. Semifinalists will then be asked to provide additional information. Finalists will be selected from
that group and an interview scheduled with members of the selection committee. Interviews are held in May each year and scholarship recipients will be notified by May 31.

- A student’s academic achievement and potential
- A student’s leadership qualities
- A student’s personal development and maturity

Who are R&R Education Consultants?
|
| A. |
R&R Education Consultants is a New York City-based college scholarship program administrator with a
national reputation. The company has been engaged by the Lenfest Foundation to manage and administer the Lenfest
College Scholarship Program. R&R will also provide counseling to scholarship winners during their senior year in
high school and throughout their college years. Roger Lehecka and Ria Coyne are principals of R&R and will communicate directly with scholarship winners and their families.
